Lydie Polfer
Luxembourg City’s Mayor discusses her life and political career, marked by tragedy at the very beginning and her plans for the City ahead of the 2023 elections.
Lydie Polfer became Mayor for the first time in 1982, replacing her extremely popular father Camille Polfer. She stayed on as Mayor until 1999, when she became Minister of Foreign and European Affairs. She took over the City once more in 2013, after Xavier Bettel became Prime Minister.
This year, with Patrick Goldschmidt, they are the DP’s lead candidates for Luxembourg City.
