Christophe performs some Gypsy Jazz renditions live on air
Christophe Astolfi was born and raised in Lorraine, a few kilometers from Longwy. At the age of twelve, he began studying the guitar in a self-taught manner. A family friend then taught him the first chords and the repertoire of his idol: Jimi Hendrix. His teacher didn’t know music theory, but he taught him how to reproduce what he heard on records. He also introduced Christophe to two guitarists who would greatly influence his musical journey: Joe Pass and Django Reinhardt.
