Hembadoon Morenike Peter-Thomas began her music career in 2002 in Jos, Nigeria, as part of the Cyrus gospel group, and later as the lead in the all-girl Sunrise Band, which placed 3rd in the Benson & Hedges Road Show tour. In 2005, her first single “Odo Aye” became a hit, reaching No. 1 on radio charts in northern Nigeria and featured on the BBC series “Wetin Dey.” After a decade working behind the scenes for top Nigerian acts, she revived her career in 2021, performing in musicals and creating a classical ballad for the Lagos Theatre Festival. She launched her “LADY” brand with music, live showcases, and merchandise, performing globally in cities like Rotterdam, Accra, and Montreal. Now based in Europe, Hembadoon also hosts the AFRIKULTURE MIX radio show while working on her album.
