Science writer and astrophotographer extraordinaire Adriano swung by the studio to tell us about his new, informative columns coming to RTL Today.

An ace photographer and science enthusiast, there's few things that Adriano can't photograph/write about. We discuss the art that is space photography, the beauty of the night sky, and the new writing he'll be producing for RTL Today.

Adriano's first column is called 'How do we know?' – an exploration of not just scientific facts, but the reasoning behind them. "For me," he told us, "the reasoning is as fascinating as the story itself." Often, science writing can't quite fit in the explanations behind the facts. How, for example, do we know that the Andromeda galaxy is 2.5 million light years away?

The other series Adriano is launching is called 'Cosmic Mythbusters', which our guest said might be his new favourite column. "You know how the internet these days is full of fake news? Well, the same goes for astronomy and science." Grappling with topics like flat earth, moon landing conspiracies, or even just innocent misconceptions, Adriano wants to elucidate the current scientific facts to counter false narratives.

His take on why the earth couldn't possibly be flat is honestly brilliant – Tom and John were flabbergasted.
