Hey hey, welcome to another edition of Screen Time with me, Stephen Steps Lowe - your weekly rummage through cinema, streaming, and gaming goodness.

We kicked off this episode soundtracked by the iconic Donnie Darko OST, with its moody blend of '80s new wave and alt-rock setting the tone. Alongside cult classics and cosmic rabbits, we previewed two big upcoming films: the nostalgic return of I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025) with Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. reprising their roles, and Pixar’s latest animated adventure, Elio, which blasts a young boy into intergalactic diplomacy under the direction of Adrian Molina.

On the box office front, the live-action How to Train Your Dragon soars to number one, while Lilo & Stitch clings to the charts with furry charm. Tom Cruise wraps up his high-octane Mission: Impossible run, and action continues with Ballerina’s assassin ballet and Final Destination: Bloodlines’ gruesome creative deaths.

Our mini review spotlighted Echo Valley, the rural-set thriller from Michael Pearce starring Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney. Despite its impressive cast and dark atmosphere, the film struggles to deliver, with big themes undermined by uneven pacing and shallow storytelling. It’s all mood, little depth - fine for a late-night background watch, but unlikely to stick with you.

We wrapped with the latest film headlines, from Jeremy Allen White’s Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me from Nowhere to Eddie Murphy’s action-comedy The Pickup and Matthew McConaughey’s survival thriller The Lost Bus. Plus, gaming buzz from Red Dead Redemption and Elden Ring, whispers of Mindhunter’s return, and Breaking Bad’s infamous house hitting the market.

That’s your Screen Time roundup - cult soundtracks, big movie names, and a few missed marks along the way.
