Screen Time: Episode 34 04.07.25

Welcome to Screen Time, your weekly guide to the brightest and buzziest moments from film, TV, and gaming with Stephen “Steps” Lowe.
This week we’re turning up the nostalgia with The Virgin Suicides soundtrack from French duo Air, in part due to their Rockhal gig and the full interview available elsewhere on RTL Play (search for New Noise - nudge, nudge, wink, wink). Sofia Coppola’s dreamlike cult classic still mesmerises thanks to Air’s lush, melancholic score - a great soundtrack to suburban mystery and heartbreak.
On the big screen, Spielberg’s original shark thriller Jaws returns to cinemas, restored for a new generation to fear the water, while Jurassic Park: Rebirth takes dino-disaster to new heights with Gareth Edwards directing and a stellar cast including Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey. Over in the Luxembourg box office, F1 races to the top spot, How to Train Your Dragon soars in live-action, and Lilo & Stitch brings chaos and heart to the big screen.
In movie news, the buzz is building for She Rides Shotgun, a gritty father-daughter survival thriller starring Taron Egerton, The Running Man reboot from Edgar Wright with Glen Powell and Florence Pugh, and Project Hail Mary, a sci-fi rescue mission with Ryan Gosling and a mysterious alien ally.
Meanwhile, Keeley Hawes headlines Prime’s upcoming espionage drama The Assassin, blending family secrets with deadly consequences.
On the small screen, The Bear has been renewed for a fifth season, while controversy continues as the BBC halts “high-risk” performances after backlash over Bob Vylan’s Glastonbury set. In gaming, Fortnite’s biggest cheat gets a lifetime ban and a hefty fine, and The Simpsons splits opinions with its viral GTA: San Andreas joke. That’s your Screen Time fix - hit up RTL Play for more and listen in next week for reviews, giveaways, and your chance to win Kinepolis tickets!
