Sarah chats with the LA-based singer-songwriter about his influences, his alter ego, and the "great paradox" of songwriting
Tyler Ballgame is an American singer-songwriter whose music sits at the intersection of classic rock, indie pop, and Americana, with songwriting inspired by the ‘60s and ‘70s, joyous melodies, and a voice that brings these elements together and makes the songs soar. He released his debut album For the First Time, Again earlier this year on Rough Trade; his latest single, “Live It Down,” came out on July 14.
On the back of his transcendent show at Rotondes - part of the annual Congés Annulés programme - Sarah spoke with Tyler to get his thoughts on songwriting, performing, and how he got where he is today.
