Mamie et Moi: knitting non-profit

Sue Desroches and Aurélie Maillot from Mamie et Moi joined us live, it is a not-for-profit association, founded in Luxembourg in 2013, and run by volunteer "grannies". The idea is to create links between the generations, using knitting and crochet as a reason for meeting. Mamie et Moi organises café tricot workshops in Luxembourg's museums, once or twice a month. These workshops are free to all who are interested, no previous knitting experience required and are often followed by a free guided tour of the museum. In 2020 they launched the Collectif au Carré project to reproduce with knitted and crocheted squares a part of the painting 'La Petite Histoire' in the Musée Vauban. The work was exhibited in the Letzbuerg City Museum. A highly enriching collaborative project that harvested over 30 thousand knitted squares! They are doing a similiar project in 2024 and need lots of squares in the Luxembourg flag colours.
