'LÄIF A SEIL' (meaning 'The Last Ashes' in English) is a brand new Luxembourgish film with subtitles in English and French that hit cinemas last week. Melissa was joined by co-writer and director of the film Loic Tanson and Timo Wagner one of the actors in the film to tell us all about the conception of this project and how it was to make. The film is a female-led modern western set in Luxembourg in 1854, it is framed in the style of a fairytale and tells the story of Helene who returns to her home parish that is suffering under the tyranny of the patriarchal Graff family with only one desire: revenge. Loic tells us why a female lead character was so essential to his vision and Timo explains what it was like to play a character who has endured much physical and mental pain.
