AWCL: Gifts for Kids Program
For the first Saturday morning edition of this show, Melissa was joined by Corinne Koenig Luxembourg and Marwah Naseem from the American Women’s Club of Luxembourg to talk about their Gifts for Kids Program which has been in operation since 1996. Through the program, the AWCL raises funds, coordinates the purchase of selected toys and delivers them to children living in group homes or foyers on Saint Nicholas Day. In 2023, due the generous donations, AWCL was able to deliver 1,453 gifts to 85 foyers across Luxembourg. Now they are seeing increasing requests for help across the country, so the goal in 2024 is to expand their reach, spreading joy and creating special St. Nicholas memories for as many children as possible.
