The question: Does rhythm/music influence the taste of wine?
ROCKHAL x VINSMOSELLE have created twin wine bottles which will soon be available! PB05 and PB25: A VINE SYMPHONY: Same grape, same age, however they were fermented for five weeks using two different songs playing in each of the barrels.
- PB05 : Exposed to dense, bass-heavy, high-energy music.Yields a silky texture, elegant aromas and a bright, energetic backbone.
- PB25 : Fermented to a subtler, airy rhythm with lighter mids and highs. Delivers a vibrant mouthfeel and a longer aromatic finish.
Bigger message: The project celebrates how personal preferences in sound and atmosphere mirror the diversity of taste in wine—yet both can unite people through shared emotion.
This was a cross-disciplinary experiment: Rockhal and wine cooperative Domaines Vinsmoselle paired winemaking with sound, letting 2 fermenting cuvées “listen” to different music to explore how sound vibrations can shape flavour.
Shared philosophy: Both partners see emotion and vibration—whether acoustic or gustatory—as the common thread between live music and wine, aiming to create a multisensory, audience-driven experience.
Outcome: 2 limited wines with contrasting personalities! The twins will be ready to buy in two weeks!
