Fifty years is a milestone worth celebrating!

Richard Neale stopped by to let us know about the activities taking place this weekend. The Optimists Cricket Club marks its 50th anniversary with a packed programme of events, and everyone is invited to be part of the celebrations.

To commemorate this special occasion, the prestigious Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) will travel to Luxembourg with a touring side to take on both Optimists CC and the Luxembourg National Team in a series of exciting matches.

Adding to the celebrations, cricket legends Ian Botham, Matthew Hoggard and Monty Panesar will be in Luxembourg for the club's 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner at Porta Nova on Saturday evening. The event, which will welcome 200 guests, has already sold out.

For those who missed out on dinner tickets, there is still a fantastic opportunity to see some of cricket's biggest names. Botham and Hoggard will be at the ground on Sunday afternoon, meeting fans, signing autographs and enjoying the cricket, while Panesar will be taking to the field for the Optimists as they face MCC in what promises to be a memorable finale to the anniversary weekend.
