Luxembourger looks for storage space for building materials - and finds dream castle for his family

When roofer Francy Weyrich was looking for a storage place for building materials in 2011, he discovered the 15th-century castle on the offered property, which has since been lovingly renovated in cooperation with the family: "We used to work here every weekend," says Weyrich, "it brought our family together," he adds.
At the time of purchase, practically only the foundation walls of the outbuildings were standing. A company that originally wanted to turn it into a luxury hotel had completely gutted everything.
Since 2012, the family has been living at Kewenig Castle, which is located just over the Luxembourg border. Exhibitions and concerts are held regularly, and there is also a wedding room: "We would like to give others the opportunity to participate in life at Kewenig Castle," say the castle owners.
