Rogers' book, ‘What it Sounds Like - What the Music you love says about you’ talks about the seven dimensions of music for the listener: authenticity, realism, novelty, melody, lyrics, rhythm and timbre. She also discusses how a musician's fashion or personal life can affect how we perceive them.
In the interview we hear about Susan Rogers' meeting with Miles Davis when working with Prince, and his message "Some of the best musician's are not musicians". You can listen to the full interview, and many more besides, on Sarah's show, The Hangover.
