The Lunchbox - Antony Szmierek interview pt.2

“I’m still skint, man, the words are all true – it’s not nostalgia”
A show off by nature, Antony Szmierek, is steadily getting used to being recognised and having people tattoo his lyrics on their person’s, but it is an awkward shift for someone, who until recently enjoyed being private. In the follow up to our chat, we peel back the onion to discuss how attitudes from his pupils and peers have changed of late – and how his day job inspires his drive, how we found his voice, so to speak. We also learn that if this - and Antony consider it be moderate – success, had come about in the 90s, he’d be a goner, an offer from the BBC to soundtrack a World Cup montage would be rebuffed and rebuked, and chocolate raisins are the cement in any Pick n Mix ratio.
This is the second part of our two-part interview.
