The Lunchbox - Loyle Carner itvw pt.1

"I feel things deeply, I see the beauty in the everday...and I think there's a lot of beauty in the ugly too...!"
It may have taken us a while to get this one locked in, but aside from scheduling conflicts, dodgy wi-fi and broken phones, we were delighted to, (eventually) get to spend some time with one of the UK’s mots thrilling and important acts ahead of his upcoming show at Rockhal, in Belval.
Loyle Carner’s recent album Hugo is an incredible body of work, taking in as it does grand themes of acceptance and alienation but also in applying these ideas to the micro elements of living and life. Here in part one of a two part interview we get to find out how a documentary on Rick Rubin working with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers helped Loyle find his confidence, how COVID actually came at a good time for him to figure out who he was and is, how greed and ignorance have stalled acceptance (globally speaking) and of course that Cheese and Onion crisps are no go, these days, on accounts of what they do to your breath. Thanks for listening.
