The Lunchbox - Charlie Forbes: Shame itvw pt1

“There are lot of band’s that are hyped far more than us, if I were in Wet Leg right now, I’d be bricking it”
Back at the tail end of January I got to chat with Charlie Forbes, drummer with the highly regarded UK band Shame. We agreed that Whispas and Aeros are shameful (cough) choc bars and we lament the fall of many of London’s small music venues. We cover the hype that can propel you forward and hold you back, we discuss getting older and taking it easier on tour. We also get interrupted by Charlie Steen as he tells us the meaning of the album title – you have to really lean in to hear it. Basically, it’s not meant as pessimistic as it sounds. We also learn what Charlie would feed a worm, if that worm was called Wilbur. This is part one of two.
Shame’s latest album Food for Worms is our now via Rough trade imprint Dead Oceans.
