The Lunchbox - Iain Balshaw itvw pt 2

“Having seen how the game has moved on and witnessed some of the collisions, I’m quite happy I am retired”
In the second part of my interview with former England rugby star, Iain Balshaw, we cover the state of the modern game, assess whether a ‘prime’ Balsh could carve it up on the current platform, whether England, in particular, are playing too rigid a game plan. Iain reveals what it is like to be known as a World Cup Winner and whether that is a heavy responsibility. We discuss what needs to be done to prevent more Premiership clubs going bankrupt and how Iain transitioned into finance, working for Alpha Group, following his retirement from rugby. Iain is, perhaps unsurprisingly, a huge fan of the French team but not such a huge fan of after-dinner speeches…he’s not done as many as you’d think… as before Iain is wonderfully laidback company. If you’ve not yet listened to part one, please do so, it’s available to you over on RTL Play. Iain is a guest of honour at this weekend’s Rugby Club Luxembourg Gala Dinner.
