‘Cancel Culture (puhh) it looms healthily and most of the time, it means a lot of very rotten men getting what they deserve…I don’t mind that’

In this second part of my chat with Baxter Dury we discuss ‘cancel culture’, the importance of performance, Baxter reveals that he leans on the hip-hop method of bumping up things that have happened in and around his life. We get to the crux of what his process is all about and how he considers it be a hyper vain blend of fact and fiction, sometimes both at once. We discuss how he came to working with the wonderful JGrrey, how social commentary is more his thing than, say, political commentary and we investigate what his formative musical memories were. We are aware that the vocal mix is a little low on Baxter…we’ve been taking notes from Christopher Nolan in how to drawn in the listener. Please go back and check out part one, if you have not already and be sure to check out ticket details for the upcoming show at Den A on atelier.lu… cheers.
