“I grew up buying records, falling in love with them - playing them over & over, I like for the emotion to come out - for it to feel very real and raw"

In the second part of this interview with Marika Hackman we look at the distribution of pay that artists receive when touring, particularly in the UK. It's not great. Marika speaks on buying CDs, falling in love with them and putting them on repeat, and then, latterly, the pressures of staying in people’s minds…and playlists, how as an artist she takes quite messy subjects and approaches them in a very clinical way. We work out if incredibly tidy bookshelves equate to easier creative processes. We discuss the lack of decent promotional programming on the tellybox and we find out that despite Big Sigh being out in the world for less than a week at the time of our chat, a new album is brewing. If you have not yet checked out part one of this wonderful interview please go and do so now, then come back with a cuppa, some biccies and a comfy seat. Cheers.
