The Lunchbox: Blame Emeraude ITVW

“I actually wrote the song - spiralling badly and not sober, it’s not glorifying it, it’s more an observation of what I went through"
Luxembourg artist Blame Emerode joined Stephen Steps Lowe on RTL Today Radio to talk about the rapid evolution of her music, from her pop beginnings towards the darker guitars, industrial textures and alternative influences that now shape her sound.
She also reflects on winning Screaming Fields 2025, an experience she says helped her overcome severe stage anxiety, and explains how artists including Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, Dead Poet Society and DeathbyRomy have fed into her developing musical identity.
The conversation also turns to the much more personal story behind recent single “Bottle Anthem”, written during a difficult period in 2024 following her return from a month in South Korea. Emerode describes the song as an observation of herself beginning to spiral, rather than a glorification of alcohol, and discusses turning vulnerability, anxiety and anger at wider social issues into music others can recognise themselves in. She also looks ahead to her first EP release show at MK Bar in Belval on 30 October.
