“Doing what we do, if it does not sound natural, it would just come across as fuckin’ pompous”!

Without a doubt one of the most chaotic beginnings to any interview I have ever done, this chat with Nottingham’s finest agit-pop-punk musicians had a number of false starts…mainly due to Jason’s dog, not to be confused with Schrodinger’s cat… a fit of sneezing and an unexpected bout of nerves on my behalf. UK Grim is the latest LP from the duo who are disarmingly lovely, going against their image as being provocative and testy. In the first part of our two-part conflab we run the rule over why it’s not great that there’s an unending stream of inspiration rattled out by the governmental inadequacies present in the UK and the press feeding an air of unease. Andrew details his recording process and massive archive of material, Jason adds that there are some quality tracks not on any album and how Coachella is trying to make itself cool again.
